If you live in Syracuse, NY or Onondaga County and have tried to throw out or otherwise discard an old television, you've most likely been the recipient of a rude-looking orange sticker, and a TV left in your front yard, courtesy of the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA), the City of Syracuse Department of Public Works or your private trash hauler.
Believe it or not, you can't simply throw out an old TV anymore. The same device that the salesperson described in glowing terms last year is now Toxic Waste and can't even be thrown out.
Although it
is possible to legally dispose of your television, it's no longer as easy as leaving it at the curb. You'll need to keep checking the
Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency Television (TV) Recycling Program website, to find out when and where the next collection is.
